'Carola', introduced by France's Delbard in 1980 and bred by Georges Delbard, is a 100–130 cm tall cut rose with 10–12 cm deep red flowers. Boasting over 40 petals with a velvety texture (nearly black in autumn), it opens from a cup to rosette shape, carrying a light pleasant fragrance. Petals are thick with good single-flower longevity, though poor in rain tolerance. Highly heat-resistant, it suits hot regions like Guangdong and Guangxi, reblooming from late spring to late autumn. The vigorous, thorny plant has dark green semi-glossy leaves and excellent disease resistance, named in honor of Madame Georges Delbard.
