Kong Meng is a domestically bred shrub rose developed by Jiang Zhengzhi from Tianlang in China and released in 2014. It reaches around 90 cm in height with blooms of 6–8 cm in taro purple, emitting a delicate Damask rose fragrance. Its petals are thin, requiring ample water to extend the flowering period; it performs best in partial shade in summer with good high-temperature tolerance, producing fuller blooms in autumn, yet it dislikes heavy rain and low temperatures which hinder bud opening. Featuring soft flexible stems, this fast-growing variety can be cultivated as either a shrub or climbing rose, is relatively easy to maintain, though disease resistance is moderate and prevention against spider mites is necessary.
