"New Design" , a cut rose variety bred by Tantau from Germany and released in 2021, has a plant height of 80–100 cm and a width of 60 cm. Its blooms measure 10 cm in diameter with a large number of petals—approximately 70. The flower color is coral pink or apricot pink, showing a gradient effect from the petal edges to the center, with the center slightly darker; occasionally, the stamens have a pale green hue. It features a shallow cup-shaped flower form that incorporates the nostalgic shape inherent in old English roses, emits a relatively light fragrance, and has a vase life of up to 7–10 days. Notably, this variety easily develops green stamens (colloquially referred to as "green nose hair" by rose enthusiasts). It is rain-tolerant: its petals are thick, not easy to rot after rain, making it suitable for rainy areas. The plant has a compact and upright habit, with dark green, glossy leaves, and exhibits strong resistance to common rose diseases such as black spot disease and powdery mildew. The name "New Design" likely stems from its unique flower shape and color, representing the breeder’s innovative design based on classic roses.
