‘Yves Sion’, a 2012 Japanese rose by Sugimoto Rose Garden in Shiga Prefecture, grows to 110 cm tall and produces 8–10 cm blooms. Though its name suggests a purple hue, the petals are typically soft pink with purplish tones appearing only in cooler weather. The blooms are densely packed and layered, with outer petals nearing white and the innermost layers flushed with lavender-pink. A ruffled outer edge enhances its resemblance to a lush peony. Intensely fragrant, it inherits the rich Damask scent typical of the Yves series. While suitable for cutting and multiple flushes through the season, the plant has moderate vigor and disease resistance, making it better suited to growers with some experience.
